Silicon Valley’s reputation as an artistic wasteland is starting to change, thanks in part to the efforts of San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art. While SFMOMA undergoes a three-year expansion effort, through early 2016, it has opened a temporary exhibition in Silicon Valley called “Project Los Altos” (through March 2). The show, located in ten sites in Los Altos, includes works from artists like Spencer Finch (such as his Back to Kansas, pictured) and Christian Jankowski that were commissioned to portray the history and culture of the area. After all, SFMOMA’s renovation plans have been made possible with the help of tech innovators who, due to their success, are looking to collect. sfmoma.org.
