Bass Museum of Art
The Bass focuses on compelling juxtapositions of contemporary art and historical pieces, including its founding collection of Renaissance and Baroque art. Executive Director and Chief Curator Silvia Karman Cubiñá points to the Egyptian gallery—South Florida's only one—as the major crowd-pleaser but says Sandro Boticelli's Coronation of the Virgin altarpiece, one of the few Boticellis on view in the U.S., is the museum's most important unsung treasure. 2100 Collins Ave.; 305-673-7530; bassmuseum.org.
