The splashy Turbulences–FRAC Centre, designed by Paris-based Jakob + MacFarlane, debuted in Orléans, France, in September. It’s part of the FRAC (Regional Funds for Contemporary Art), a group of cultural institutions that, since the 1980s, has been a successful model for bringing contemporary art to regions outside Paris. Inside the museum, the collection is dedicated to experimental architecture; outside, the bold, aluminum-clad structure’s perforated skin features 14,000 LED units that at night bring to life a digital light installation imagined by Parisian design duo Electronic Shadow. At 88 Rue du Colombier; frac-centre.fr.
