It seems Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection is on a mission to take cruising to the next level. The travel company recently revealed it would set sail for the first time throughout the Peruvian Amazon. And now they’re adding a unique element to some sailing itineraries: train travel.
Beginning in August 2021, two new itineraries will be introduced that incorporate cruise, land, and train travel. In partnership with Golden Eagle Luxury Trains, the new packages include the 14-day Cruise & Rail: Milan, Venice and the Swiss Alps and a 12-day Cruise & Rail: Venice and the Swiss Alps. The first starts with exploring Milan on foot, followed by a round-trip cruise from Venice and ends with a train trip to Zurich. The other begins with a train trip from Zurich to Venice and finishes with a round-trip cruise.
On both trips, you’ll get to stop at spots like the medieval town of Lienz and the stunning Lake Bled, get a tour of the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, visit Gutenberg Castle in the town of Balzers, Liechtenstein, and enjoy a private concert in the caves of Postojna. Along the way, you’ll be treated to five-star accommodations on both the cruise and train portions of the trips with everything from meals and drinks to transfers and excursions included.
“At Uniworld, we are constantly looking for ways to elevate the intimate destination experience our guests appreciate and quite frankly, expect,” said Ellen Bettridge, President & CEO of Uniworld, in a statement. “Like river cruising, luxury train travel is an opportunity to bring our guests to the heart of Europe and with a view that changes daily. It [train travel] is a trend where we are very much at the forefront and are thrilled to be using this opportunity to broaden Uniworld’s horizons and explore new destinations the brand has yet to travel to.”
Uniworld’s new Cruise & Rail 2021 itineraries go on sale later this month. Prices start at $9,999 per person for the 12-day package with the first voyage beginning on August 1, 2021.
