Earlier this month, Prince Harry and Meghan ventured on a 10-day royal tour in South Africa, Malawi, Angola, and Botswana with their son, Archie, tagging along. While their itinerary was certainly action-packed, the Duke and Duchess were able to show off some particularly stunning parts of the continent and highlight important charities. Now, you can travel like the royals thanks to a new package by Classic Escapes: In the Footsteps of the Royals.
The travel agency, which specializes in luxury African getaway, created a 10-day dream vacation, featuring many of the cultural and philanthropic stops the couple made during their recent royal visit.
"Our company has always had its roots in sustainable tourism with a focus on promoting the welfare and enrichment of all the people who we get the opportunity to meet and visit through our trips," Classic Escapes Co-Founder & Vice President Diana Fiorentinos, told Departures. "When we heard about Harry and Meghan's African journey, it was a no brainer for us to put this program together."
Included in the itinerary is a visit to Woodstock Exchange, where Meghan went to meet with female entrepreneurs and investors working in technology. You'll get a hands-on cooking lesson from a local who'll host you at her home in Bo-Kaap township just like the royals did. Spend the night at the Chobe Game Lodge, the same hotel Prince Harry stayed in Chobe National Park known for its overabundance of elephants. And visit The Justice Desk, an organization Harry and Meghan supported by wearing matching bracelets when kicking off their visit.
District Six at Cape Flats and Langa, the oldest formal black township in Cape Town created at the height of the apartheid era, and Auwal Mosque, the oldest mosque in South Africa where Harry and Meghan went on day two of their trip are also stops along the way.
"And while you're following in their philanthropic footsteps," added Fiorentinos. "You'll also be going on a fabulous three-night safari in the famous Kruger National Park exploring Cape Town's many attractions, and (on the extension) you'll also go to Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world."
Available throughout 2020, In the Footsteps of the Royals, rates start from $7,395 per person, plus international airfare, with an optional four-night extension.
