It doesn’t get more magical than winter in Switzerland. Snow-covered mountains surround stunning lakes, and twinkling lights instantly evoke a festive feeling. And that couldn’t be more true than at Bürgenstock Resort perched 1,600 feet above Lake Lucerne. The property, which initially opened in 1873, has long been a staple for a winter getaway. But this year the luxury resort wants you to spend the holidays with them.

As part of their “Christmas Around the World” event, guests can enjoy several holiday-themed international culinary experiences at the resort. Dinners at Michelin-starred Ritzcoffier, Spices, and Oak Grill will be served on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. And New Year’s Eve will be celebrated across the property with options to have an elegant gala dinner at Ritzcoffier, a family-style Asian-inspired meal at Spices, a Middle Eastern feast at Sharq, or a five-course tasting at Oak Grill.

Even if you can’t stay during the actual holiday, the hotel is still hosting festive foodie events all season long. There will be a Fondue Chinoise at Simmentaler Stube, a festive Afternoon Tea from November 30 to January 7, and an Advent Brunch every Sunday in December from December 1 to 22.

Along with decadent dining, travelers can also opt to book a Winter Experience package too. The Alpine Ski & Spa includes a daily ski pass for the Engelberg/Titlis resort, ice skating, a massage in the Alpine Spa, and a fondue dining experience. Or, balance out all the indulging with the Winter Wellbeing package that includes accommodations at Waldhotel Health & Medical Excellence where you’ll get advice from professionals and treatments like an infrared detox session, Swiss Line facial, and cryotherapy. Did we mention the wellness hotel was built into a mountain and surrounded on three sides by forest?

The stunning hotel is sure to become a holiday hot spot after reopening in 2017 after nine years of renovations. The property now features four hotels, 10 restaurants, and bars, an award-winning Alpine Spa. Oh, and the incredible sweeping views of Lake Lucerne are pretty enticing too.
