When you think of safaris, Africa typically comes to mind. But the new Crystal Sky Camp brings that luxury and natural wonder to the Pacific Northwest. Guests will be able to camp in safari-inspired tents at 6,000 feet within the National Forest service.
The new offering results from a collaboration between Crystal Mountain Resort and outdoor hospitality company Under Canvas. Together they curated this experience where guests take a chairlift (it’s the only way to reach it) to the top of a mountain in Washington’s scenic Cascade Range with iconic Mount Rainier next door. Once at the top, 20 luxe tents await that are capable of accommodating 40 to 50 guests.
Although remote, guests get all the comforts and conveniences of the all-inclusive Crystal Mountain. That means you get daily meals, housekeeping, transportation, use of Crystal Mountain’s modern lodge, and a variety of indoor and outdoor activities like nightly campfires, s’mores, stargazing, and more. Plus, the tents feature king-sized beds with high-end linens, wood floors, private indoor/outdoor seating, and wood-burning stoves. To shower, simply head to the bathhouse with private stalls, hot water, flushing toilets, and sinks. And, yes, the tents have high-speed WIFI to ensure you can stay in touch with the world below if you want.

The season for Crystal Sky Camp runs from July 1 to September 31, 2021, and is designed for group buyouts and events. The camp is already scheduled to continue for three years beyond the inaugural season.
