Valentine's Day is all about celebrating with your prince (or princess) charming. But you could live out a royal fantasy this holiday by staying in a real prince's palace. Luxury home rental brand Plum Guide revealed that they have such a property in the heart of Rome.

Called Paolina's Chambers, the historical palazzo is located in Palazzo Borghese, the seat of one of the most storied families in Rome. It features lavish details like 16-foot-high ceilings, Rojo Alicante tables, mahogany furniture, and oil paintings adorning the walls. But it's the history that's the most interesting with popes, princes, and even a Bonaparte staying here.

And the one-bedroom home still features plenty of regal details like a grand gated entryway, a princess-worthy bedroom complete with heavy drapes and a chandelier, and opulent decor scattered throughout. Plus, your host Gregorio is a member of the famous Borghese family, which has had an influence in Rome since the 1200s. Although, you have all the modern conveniences like a full kitchen, WiFi, air conditioning, and more.

You also have easy access to some of the highlights in Italy's capital city. The Spagna neighborhood is home to the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, designer stores along Via del Babuino, and Balthus's wall-painting at Villa Medici. The Borghese Gallery and Museum are just over a mile away if you want to stick with the regal theme.

"The Borghese Family is one of the most ancient and renowned in all of Rome, so much so that there are buildings and streets dedicated to the blazoned dynasty," wrote Plum Guide Home Critic Maria Ferreira. "A true gem of a home, Paolina's Chambers is part of one of those historical palazzos. This precious apartment is brimming with antiques and inestimable original pieces, all of this while being located super centrally but in an incredibly quiet area. It's like time travel but with a literal ensuite jacuzzi. There is no need to lose a shoe, Cinderellas."

The historic apartment sleeps four and is available starting at $527 per night.
