Palatial Grandeur in London and a Coastal California Hideaway
From New York to London, these are the hotels our editors loved in April.
It's no secret that interest in private aviation among ultra-high net worth individuals has been increasing over the past few years. According to ISG's 2019 Miami real estate report, there was a 35% increase in private air travel in South Florida last year putting buyers on the hunt for vacation homes that offer exclusive access to air travel (via helipad, sky port, proximity, etc.). What's more, is buyers are purchasing directly from the skies.
Yes, companies are taking the world's wealthiest on real estate searches via planes and helicopters to find a property that will meet their standards. A recent Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences' buyer, for example, purchased a home following a flyover with a plane. And now The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Miami Beach is offering helicopter transportation services that are two-fold with their navigable marine helipad.
The exclusive community and the first full-scale residential architectural project designed by Master Italian architect Piero Lissoni will take potential buyers on a unique sales tour of the property by hitting the skies. Then, once a resident, you will be able to schedule helicopter shuttles directly through The Residences' concierge.
With a short, three-minute ride on The Residences' day yacht, owners can link up to the chopper and ascend from the navigable marine helistop on Biscayne Bay. It's the ultimate way to get to and from the airport in just a few minutes, plus any destination in the entire state of Florida, including The Keys and the Bahamas. Imagine landing on your private jet, being picked up via helicopter and shuttled home in less than 15 minutes.
Since the property, which is slated for completion this year, is conveniently located in the heart of Mid-Beach where ocean and lake meet, it essentially has its own exclusive waterway to jet off via boat at any time. This creates a traffic-free (10-15 minute helicopter ride) to the airport and can be scheduled upon arriving back in town.
And The Ritz-Carlton Residences aren’t the only ones offering aviation perks. Residents at Turnberry Ocean Club receive preferred rates, priority access, aircraft maintenance, and full-service concierge at Fontainebleau Aviation Luxe Facility at the Opa-Locka Executive Airport. After all, who wants to deal with the headache of commercial air travel?
