The Napa Valley Wine Train is one of the best ways to experience the region as it evokes the glory days of train travel. But starting in late February, it will take on a whole new level of entertainment. The company just announced the new lineup for its popular Murder Mystery Tour.
Yes, not only will you get a full meal and choice of some of the best wines, but you'll also get to dress up in era-specific garb while trying to solve a fictitious murder. This year will feature multiple themes like the 1950s "Dance with Death," "Totally '80s", and the U.S.'s prohibition era's "Death of a Gangster." Wizards, witches, brides, grooms, and masquerade ball attendees are all characters that you could become.
The themes will rotate over the next several months except for "Most Wonderful Crime," which will only run on the last day. That show is rated "R" and only available to those aged 21 and older.
"Guests have loved the highly interactive nature of the experience when the Murder Mystery Tour launched in 2019, so we're excited to partner with The Murder Mystery Company and its cast of talented actors for 2020," said Scott Goldie, Co-CEO of the Napa Valley Wine Train, in a statement. "This year's themes will add a few twists and give everyone a chance to enjoy an evening of flavorful food and fun detective work."
Over the three-hour journey, you'll enjoy a multi-course gourmet dinner from Executive Chef Donald Young that includes sliced roasted tenderloin of beef or Gemelli pasta spring peas and a daily dessert creation from Pastry Chef Chloe Rials. You'll also get to sip on wines from world-famous vineyards you'll pass along the trip. Meanwhile, passengers will work together to solve the crime by trading clues and gathering information before time runs out, and the murderer escapes.
Tour dates run from February 22 to December 5, and tickets cost $240 per person.
