The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is legendary in the travel world with its luxe art deco décor and top-notch service. Now, the famous train is expanding its offerings by announcing three new suites and adding five new boarding points. In fact, the new Venice-to-Amsterdam route takes passengers through three European capitals in one trip.
Yes, the incredible itinerary will take you to Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam on your way from Venice, all while enjoying plush accommodations, four-course meals, and dedicated service along the way. Over just two days, you’ll get to see the incredible cities out your window, with breakfast being served on day two as you approach Paris and lunch before arriving in Amsterdam.

That’s not the only new route. Another new route from Florence includes stops at Belmond’s sister properties Belmond Villa San Michele and Belmond Castello di Casole in Tuscany, both American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts properties. You can book a three- or six-night stay, both of which include transfers to and from the train stations, breakfast, and meals onboard the train.
And to celebrate the expansion, three new grand suites were added named after those European capitals. So, the Prague suite is outfitted in gold and maroon with a theatrical motif. The Vienna suite features gold and emerald green hues with classic, romantic details. And the Budapest suite has elements of both Gothic and Ottoman architecture.

All of these new offerings come after the stunning train had to halt service amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The team took the time to identify new destinations and routes and more luxurious ways to see Europe. What hasn’t changed is the traditional experience passengers have on board in the 17 restored train cars. It feels as if you’re living in an Agatha Christie novel (minus the drama).
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express routes run from March to November, and the train travels to Istanbul once a year.
