Love dogs? Want to get paid to watch them? And how about enjoying a free stay at a luxury London townhouse? No, you’re not dreaming. A busy couple living in the London borough of Kensington are looking for someone to care for their two pooches while manage their six-story home.
The job listing is posted on Silver Swan Recruitment and states that one lucky person will make around $40,000 a year (£30,000-£32,000) entertaining the dogs all day long. This essentially means you will be the personal assistant to the pups, arranging all their appointments, managing their insurance, liaising with dog walkers and cleaner, and organizing all of their meals. Each morning and evening, they will take the dogs for a walk to let them stretch their legs.
While most of the position revolves around the dogs, some house maintenance is required as well. According to the listing, daily housekeeping, laundry, light vegan cooking, food shopping, greeting visitors, and running errands are all part of the gig. But, the couple are both international business people who frequently travel, so they don’t expect to be home too often.
And though occasional weekends are required for special doggy outings, the position is only Monday through Friday. So, the rest of the time is free to spend exploring London. As a live-in doggy caretaker, you will be only a short 20-minute walk to Buckingham Palace plus having the rest of the stunning city at your disposal. Also, there are three subway stations nearby, making it easy to explore.
As far as experience, you must 'have a passion for dog care, experience looking after dogs, good housekeeping experience, be fit and active, be hard working and trustworthy,' and 'any cooking experience would be advantageous.'
