Suitcases are more than just a practical travel accessory these days. They've become works of art and statement pieces drawing inspiration from many places. RIMOWA recently launched a collection using colors of the Mojave desert, for example. Now, Zero Halliburton is using luxury carmaker, Lexus, to design two exclusive collections.

The heritage luggage brand partnered with the car company to create two suitcases—the Edge Lightweight and Pursuit Aluminum—or the 2020 Lexus GS Black and the 2021 LC 500 Convertible. The Edge Lightweight Collection features one-of-a-kind details like interior lining imprinted with the Lexus grille motif, interior compression panels, the car logo embossed on it, and a logo badge laser-etched with Zero Halliburton for Lexus on the exterior.

The Pursuit Aluminum also features the cushion-cut chrome logo badge as well as a silky interior fabric with the Intersect by Lexus Crosshatch pattern. It also boasts an embossable, coated leather pull tab that can be personalized and specially-colored blue-coated leather carry handle to match the color scheme's eye-catching convertible.

Certain patent-pending features can also be found in the new collection. For example, the Concave Edging—four deep-set channels—was designed to ensure the suitcase's strength and protection. This reduces the chances of damage from dents and absorbs shock like a car. And the ZH Chassis allows for excellent ground clearance and superior wheel system. Plus, the custom-made Scalloped Grip Handle enables the bag to be easily lifted out of a car trunk or into an overhead compartment.

"Designed together with the unified mission of inspired design, relentless innovation, and uninhibited performance to create passionate, moving experiences, the partnership strives to further elevate customer experience," Zero Halliburton Luggage said in a statement.

Both bags are available in two sizes: 22-inch continental carry-on and a 26-inch medium travel case. The pursuit aluminum Continental Carry on Case retails for $945 and the medium travel case retails for $1,095. The edge lightweight continental carry on case retails for $475 and the medium travel case retails for $575. That's in addition to the price of a car.
