All business-class airline, La Compagnie has already made a name for itself since launching in 2014. They partnered with Little Spoon to treat babies to healthy and nutritious meal options, hosted a flying art gallery, and offers pop-up experiences like a Petrossian caviar tasting. Now, they’ve made flying even more luxurious by adding lay-flat seats on their regularly scheduled transatlantic flights.
Earlier this month, the boutique airline introduced its first Airbus A321neo to its fleet, marking the first single-aisle version of the plane designed exclusively for La Compagnie. The new plane, which flies between New York and Paris, is outfitted with an impressive 76 full-flat seats in a two-by-two configuration providing more privacy. Plus, because of the new aircraft design, the carrier benefits from better fuel efficiency and lower operating costs making it a more affordable alternative compared to Air France and Delta (about a quarter of the price) with rates starting at $1,300 roundtrip.
“By selecting Airbus and its A321neo, we are able to reinvent the La Compagnie experience and offer the best to our passengers at the most attractive fare,” said Jean Charles Périno, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for La Compagnie, in a statement. “At La Compagnie, we are focused on developing our performance across all fronts and are proud to work with Airbus to offer a competitive alternative to business-class travel between two dynamic and innovative cities.”
And to ensure passengers were able to relax while venturing across the Atlantic completely, the Paris-based airline will also provide state of the art entertainment and, for the first time since launch, free unlimited wi-fi. That’s in addition to the comfy over-mattress, noise-canceling headsets, amenity kits with Caudalie skincare products, seasonally curated menus by New York and Paris based chefs, a selective list of French wines and champagne, and artisanal croissants by a famous French bakery, Maison Kayser.
The new planes mark another significant change for the airline that is celebrating its fifth anniversary this July. They also recently launched seasonal service between New York and Nice and partnered with Parisian street artist, Gaetan Heuzé to design a fresco to illustrate the onboard services.
