If you’ve got three years to spare—or even a week—consider checking out new sailing company Imagine’s new yacht excursion.
The multi-year itinerary will hit the Caribbean, Panama's San Blas Islands, the Galapagos, French Polynesia (twice!), Australia, and New Zealand. The journey kicked off this month, but will continue through February 2021.
This adventure is the brainchild of Aldo Melpignano, founder and managing director of the Borgo Egnazia hotel in Puglia. Imagine is a 110-foot yacht designed by Ed Dubois with interiors by Agnes Comar that will be circling the globe a handful of times (hence the two trips to French Polynesia). The idea is that people can hop on for sections of the trip or, if you’re really looking to get away, the entire trip.
The journey will end in New Zealand for the America’s Cup 2021. At each destination, there will be custom experiences available to trip-goers. In terms of pricing, each week-long segment of the trip will begin at $46,500.
The experiences span from learning how to kitesurf in Antigua and diving courses all along the way to sailing lessons and sustainability workshops from an on-board marine biologist. Once off the boat, you can explore the rainforests of Dominica, visit filming locations for Pirates of the Caribbean, tour artisanal chocolate factories in Grenada, and take a trip to a Caribbean carnival. In short, this is sure to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip.
