What may seem like an epic April fools joke is actually a full-fledged, and approved building plan. Come 2023, a small town in the Danish countryside will be home to a 1,050-foot skyscraper.

The clothing company, Bestseller, announced plans that call for the construction of one of the tallest buildings in the whole of Europe—Moscow's Federation Tower (1,181 feet) and OKO Tower (1,160 feet) come in at the tallest, with the Eiffel Tower at 1,063 feet in the third spot. The new Bestseller tower comes in just above The Shard in London which is 1,004 feet tall.

The booming metropolis that will call this tower home? None other than Brande, Denmark, population ~7,000. Once complete, the tower will be visible for us to 40 miles. Unfortunately, residents living in Copenhagen—Denmark's largest city—won't be able to see the high-rise as they're 170 miles away from the tiny town.

“It will be a landmark that places Brande on the map,” said Anders Krogh Vogdrup, head of constructions for Bestseller, according to The Guardian. “For more than 30 years, we have been very happy to have our home in Brande, and we feel we are a natural part of the local community,” Krogh Vogdrup said when plans for the tower were first announced.

When complete, the building will be surrounded by vast, flat fields, making it look like a scene from a sci-fi movie. Plans call for the tower to include retail shops for Bestseller's clothing brands, as well as a high-rise hotel, conference center, and office spaces.
