Four luxury hotels and one high-end restaurant along Italy's Amalfi Coast are coming together in the fight against the current coronavirus pandemic. The five participating businesses are asking for donations of €5,000 to the Fondazione Melanoma Onlus, a research initiative working toward an effective COVID-19 vaccine. The Fondazione Melanoma Onlus, is an initiative by “leading southern Italian medical institutes” and “spearheaded by immunology specialist Professor Paolo Ascierto,” according to information put out from the four hotels.
The first 40 people to make a €5,000 donation to the foundation will be awarded a voucher for a “once-in-a-lifetime” Amalfi coast escape at one of the four participating luxury hotels. The absolutely stunning five-star hotels offering these vacations are Le Sirenuse Hotel, Hotel Santa Caterina, Il San Pietro di Positano, and Palazzo Avino.
Each hotel is offering 10 vouchers, totaling 40 vacation vouchers that include a two-night stay at your chosen hotel and dinner Michelin-starred restaurant Don Alfonso 1890 for either one or two guests, to be used within two years of the hotel's 2020 reopening. Don Alfonso 1890 is, of course, the fifth business participating in this initiative and is contributing by providing a world-class dining experience to the 40 recipients of these travel vouchers.
Here’s how it works:
First, contact the hotel you’re interested in staying at on your comped dream vacation. Once the hotel has confirmed that they still have e-vouchers available, wire €5,000 to the Fondazione Melanoma Onlus. The exact wiring information can be found here. You’ll then send your proof of payment to the hotel you’re working with, at which point they’ll issue you one of their 10 vouchers.
And now, to pick the hotel you want to work with:
Le Sirenuse, an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts property, is one of Positano’s most coveted hotels, sitting right on the Tyrrhenian Sea. You can email them at info@sirenuse.it or call +39 089 875 066.
Hotel Santa Catarina is a 19th-century Amalfi villa that has been restored into a cliffside, five-star coastal retreat. To work with them on this initiative, follow these instructions.
San Pietro di Positano is a luxury Positano hot spot, and the town’s only hotel to boast their own private beach. The property has a private yacht available to charter for a lavish day spent exploring the coast. You can call them at +39 089 812 080 or email info@ilsanpietro.it
Palazzo Avino is a majestic 12th-century villa with 33 rooms and 10 suites, an on-property Michelin-starred restaurant, and a gorgeous lobster and martini bar. Contact them via email at info@palazzoavino.com or by calling + 39 089 81 81 81.
Again, once you’ve contact the property and they confirm that they have a voucher for you, you’ll then wire the money toward finding a viable coronavirus vaccine. As soon as you get your receipt for the donation, send it to the hotel, who will process your voucher for the Amalfi coast vacation of your dreams.
