While the travel industry is mostly on hold for the moment, hotels around the world are still finding ways to engage and inspire travelers. Some are live-streaming their incredible views so you can go on a virtual vacation, while others are offering gift cards for future stays that increase in value over time. But one luxury property in Costa Rica is combining the two.
Nayara Springs and Gardens, an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts property near Arenal Volcano National Park, is offering a new package that gives you a virtual destination themed experience now and an exciting in-person experience later. The Relais & Châteaux property's new "Coffee and Chocolate Lovers" package includes three nights' stay, daily breakfast, a coffee class at on-site espresso bar Mi Cafecito, one chocolate or coffee wrap spa treatment per person at the spa, and one bag of freshly roasted and ground "Nayara" coffee.
While that will have to be enjoyed at a later date, if you book the package now, you get a private virtual coffee lesson beforehand. Yes, a Zoom call will be set up by the boutique hotel's resident coffee expert, Diana, who leads the coffee classes Mi Cafecito. This is where Nayara roasts its own beans, sourced from local organic farmers. On the Zoom call, Diana will teach you how to brew the best cup of coffee at home.
This five-star property, which is surrounded by tropical forest, is all about creating unique experiences. In addition to frog watching night tours and volcano hikes, they also opened Nayara Tented Camp, where you get a safari-like stay in the heart of the Costa Rican jungle. The best part? It created a safe haven for endangered sloths.
Rates for the "Coffee and Chocolate Lovers" package start at $695 + tax per person at Nayara Gardens, or $1050 + tax per person at Nayara Springs.
