With COVID-19 cases on the rise, countries worldwide are looking for ways to safely welcome visitors back. The British Virgin Islands solution? Private jets. The stunning beach destination just announced it would be partnering with private jet company evoJets to offer a seamless booking experience.
After reopening its borders to international travelers on December 1, the BVI Tourist Board and Film Commission tried to think of ways to maintain social distancing as much as possible. To start, arrivals are limited to Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport on Beef Island. But no commercial airlines have nonstop flights there. So, flying private is the easiest option that adds another layer of safety thanks to reduced exposure.

The partnership also gives those who book with evoJets $1,500 towards catering, ground, or flight costs from any spot in the U.S. and Canada to entice travelers even more. You will also be provided with a list of recommended private villa and boat charters (you can even safely go island hopping) to continue a socially distanced vacation.
The goal of the unique partnership is to keep people safe and protect the environment as well. BVI and evoJets committed matching dollars to the BVITB&FC's "Seeds of Love" program that replants trees lost in Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Each time a trip is booked to BVI, the private jet company will donate another $1,500 to "Seeds of Love." That donation means 27 indigenous white cedar trees will be planted with each donation.

"The British Virgin Islands is an oasis of natural beauty which brings joy to all who visit," Rich Palese, managing partner at evoJets, told Departures in a statement. "We are excited to support the comeback of tourism to the islands and contribute to the rebuilding of their stunning ecosystems."
