Three new grand suites are joining the ranks of the already impressive Belmond Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. In March 2020, this luxury train will increase its number of on-board suites to six, each of which boast unique design in alignment with the places that inspired them.
Named for the distinguished European cities the train travels through, each new suite is an exhibition of the painstaking craftsmanship representative of Belmond's luxurious properties. The new Vienna, Prague, and Budapest suites, which join the Venice, Paris, and Istanbul suites, are adorned with unique details, like hand-embroidered cushions and ornate marquetry. Within each suite are double beds––convertible to two twin beds––private bathrooms with showers, a living room, and even under-floor heating.
The design of each suite is a reflection of the architectural history of each city. The Gothic architecture of Prague informs its eponymous suite’s sumptuous garnets, golds, and mosaic patterns. The marquetry and silk embroidery patterns prevalent in Ottoman architecture give the Budapest Grand Suite its authentic semblance of traditional Hungarian design. Emerald green and gilded surfaces ornament the Vienna Grand Suite––an intentional reflection of the Austrian capital city’s rich history and vibrancy.
With every booked suite comes a personal 24-hour steward ready to assist with any needs or desires during your stay, whether they be the facilitation of Belmond's acclaimed in-suite dining to simply keeping the champagne flowing.
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express luxury train travels throughout Europe from March to November, taking its passengers through the cities each suite is named for. On one particular five-night trip once a year, you can go from Paris to Istanbul in either August or September. Each ot the suites on these trips, from Venice to Paris, have their own Grand Suites as well.
A journey on this magnificent train begins at approximately $7,860 per person, per night. Visit Belmond’s website now for booking details and to begin planning your own experience with the new Grand Suites.
