A Year in Menswear

The styles you couldn’t get enough of in 2023.

With the spread of COVID-19, the world has been stuck at home for over a month now. And we bet many people wouldn’t mind a little beach getaway right about now. Unfortunately, while actually jetting off isn’t an option at the moment, the famous Bahamian resort Baha Mar—an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts property—wanted to help by bringing the islands to you.

The luxury property just released its “At Home with Baha Mar” digital care package that has several ways for families and friends to enjoy downtime together. Of course, the Bahamas inspired all the activities.

“At Baha Mar, we continue to be inspired by our guests, even while we’re apart,” the hotel wrote. “As we navigate the unexpected, we could all use a dose of vacation—the feeling of swaying palms in the Bahamian breeze and pure white sand under our feet. Until we welcome you back to our shores, we’re sharing a digital care package filled with inspiring ways to get creative, relax, connect with loved ones and relive the unforgettable experiences you’ve had with us.”

In the printable packet, you’ll find soothing coloring pages, signature cocktail recipes, craft ideas for kids, card games for a family game night, postcards to send to first responders. Baha Mar even suggested an itinerary to make use of the entire packet.

Morning: Crafts & Creativity

  • After a cup of coffee, get crafty with the kids. Baha Mar’s Explorers Club knows a thing or two about creativity and the power of imagination—and that’s all you need. Flip to page 16 of the digital care package for five pages of at-home arts & craft ideas to stimulate the imagination. Use empty cereal boxes to recreate a mini-version of your hometown right in the living room or head to outer space on a brand-new rocket ship. Use leftover wine or and champagne corks for making owls or painting masterpieces. Toilet paper rolls become bowling pins, and egg cartons turn into sailboats. The kids will keep busy as your recycling goes to great use.

Early Afternoon: Mindful Meditation

  • While the kids finish up their craft projects, virtually meet with their teachers or get some fresh air outside, allow your busy mind to take a break. Flip to page 3 and transport yourself to The Bahamas through Baha Mar’s original, soothing coloring book for adults. The elaborate, energizing designs turn from Bahamian wildlife and sunny beach views to colorful resort scenery. Spend some time tracing through cherished memories of past trips or daydream about your next trip to the Bahamian blue waters.

Late Afternoon: Appreciation

  • Print out copies of pages 23-26 to fold into thank you notes for the kids to express all of their appreciation for local heroes on the frontlines. Brighten the day for neighbors, family members, delivery men, grocery workers, hospital workers, and more by taking photos of the postcards and sharing virtually, dropping in mailboxes of neighbors, or even hanging from trees in the front yard for all to see.

5 O’Clock Somewhere: Time for a Baha Boost

  • You made it through another day–cheers to that. Flip to page 9, put on an island playlist, and shake up Baha Mar’s signature cocktail–the coconut-infused Cloud 9. Or for you need something a little stronger tonight, try the citrusy Vesper.

Evening: Family Game Night

  • Grab a deck of cards, some post-dinner snacks, and end the night by bringing the family together for a night of family-favorite card games (instructions on pages 12-15) War, Crazy Eights, and Slapjack.

The resort is asking you to connect on social media too by sharing photos of your arts, crafts, cocktails, games, and tag @BahaMarResorts. They said, “Wishing you all the best and remember.. sunny days surely lie ahead.”
