Some companies are using travel restrictions and safety measures to create some of the most luxurious adventures ever. Instead of shying away from venturing to far places, elite vacation club Exclusive Resorts came up with packages for “quaranteams” or “travel pods” to continue safely exploring during COVID. And their newest offering might be the most incredible experience ever: New Year’s cruise to Antarctica.

The Club just got the green light to move forward with its 2020/2021 New Year’s Antarctica cruise aboard the Orion, part of its Once-In-A-Lifetime Journeys collection. Members will navigate a Zodiac between towering icebergs and hike a glacier to view colonies of Gentoo or Amelie penguins as well as kayak alongside humpback and minke whales. There’s also an onboard chef to prepare all your meals, and massages are available at the wellness center.

But the one thing that will really induce a sense of #FOMO among your friends is the fact that you would be among the only people celebrating New Year’s in Antarctica. Yes, you get to ring in 2021 in one of the most remote places in the world surrounded by just your friends, family, and unspoiled nature (including penguins dressed for the occasion).

“There are 7.6 billion people in the world, and in a typical season, only about 50,000 people go to Antarctica,” says Gina Bach, VP of the Experience Collection at Exclusive Resorts, told Departures. “But this year, Members will be among the few to ring in New Year’s 2021 in Antarctica. Our Members signed up for the trip over a year ago and are still excited to make the voyage because they know we’re taking every precaution to keep them safe.”

If Antarctica isn’t possible, the exclusive membership club has other incredible offerings in the coming months. They’re putting together a golf weekend in Sea Island, Georgia, where members get lessons from pros, and the Miraval weekend escape sold out within hours.

“Creating immersive, unforgettable, and worry-free vacation experiences for our Members is at the core of everything Exclusive Resorts does, ” said James Henderson, CEO of Exclusive Resorts.
