The home share site Airbnb offers a wide variety of properties across the globe, from dream Parisian apartments to secluded bungalows in California, but the company doesn't just offer traditionally beautiful spaces to rent. On their site, you'll find a number of quirky properties that are perfect for adventurous travelers.

The site boasts "10,000 RVs, 3,000 castles, 2,000 yurts, and 1,400 islands"—yes, you read that right, there are over 1,000 private islands you can rent for your own, personal vacation—that are geared towards those looking for that one-of-a-kind experience. And there are plenty of people in search of something special. Airbnb notes that over 200,000 people have booked a stay in a treehouse and nearly 90,000 have vacationed in a yurt.
