Air France has unveiled the interiors of its new, fully retrofitted fleet of Airbus A330s, giving travelers a sneak peek into the changes coming to its business class, premium economy, and economy cabins.
The airline will be retrofitting 15 of the aircraft between now and 2020, with each including 36 seats in business, 21 seats in premium economy, and 167 seats in economy.
The aircraft comes with completely new seats and new cabin interiors.
When it comes to the business cabin, seats will convert into lie-flat beds measuring 78.7 inches in length and 22.4 inches in width.
A sliding panel between seats helps ensure complete privacy, while ambient lighting and new leather cabin interiors provide a sense of luxury.
Seats are fitted with new 18.5-inch HD touch screens, while a self-service bar is stocked with goodies for passengers.
Business class passengers will also receive amenity kits filled with Clarins beauty products, and services that include complimentary champagne and French candy upon arrival.
The airline will also feature “one of the widest seats” in premium economy. The seat measures at a width of 19 inches and has a seat pitch (the space between the back of one seat and the back of the next seat) of 40 inches.
The fixed shell seat will recline to 130 degrees and include lumbar support for added comfort. Seat cushions and wider leather armrests have also been added.
Premium economy seats will include a 13.3-inch HD screen and two USB ports in addition to feather pillow, blankets, and amenity kits stocked with travel accessories.
Meanwhile, economy seats include a 118-degree recline, 31 inches of legroom, and a personal power outlet and USB. The airline will equip each seat with audio headsets in addition to increasing the size of tray tables and widening seatback touchscreens to 11.7 inches.
The aircraft will be equipped with inflight Wi-Fi, and passengers will have the option to choose between three passes: a free message pass to send and receive messages, a surf pass to browse the internet and send emails (prices start at about $3.50 for short-haul flights), and a stream pass to stream and download files for about $34.
The refreshed A330s will fly to Accra, Ouagadougou, Houston, Cotonou, Lagos, Niamey, Bengaluru, Delhi, Seattle, Chicago, and Dallas.
