Have you been thinking that it's time to hit the road for a change of scenery, but wondering where to go? Well, now might be the sign that you're looking for as a new study just released their ranking of the 10 best cities in the world.
According to the study by a consultancy group that specializes in tourism, real estate, and economic development, London has been declared the best city in the world in 2019. Resonance released their findings earlier this month, deeming London's culture, world-class shopping, and celebrated food scene, along with a record-breaking 19.8 million visitors last year and the drop in the value of the pound, as some of the reasons why London is the best city around the globe.
The study's findings were based on an evaluation of 100 of the world's top-performing cities, based on 23 factors, including quality of the environment, housing affordability and employment opportunities, quality of institutions, diversity, economic prosperity, and quality of culture.
And this isn't the first time this year that London has found itself at the top of an international list. Cocktail bar Dandelyan was named the best bar in the world by The World's 50 Best organization back in October, only adding to Resonance's findings. Although, the bar announced that same day that they plan to close up shop, there are plenty of other spots worth checking out as three of the top five bars hale from The Smoke—the other two being the American Bar (#2) and The Connaught Bar (#5).
Paris came in second for its museums, infrastructure investment, and initiatives to become a more accessable city, among others. New York, Tokyo, and Barcelona rounded out the top five.
