The gorgeous Amalfi Coast in Italy is the picture-perfect vacation spot: ancient cobblestone streets, pastel-hued houses overlooking the clear turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and sun-drenched beaches. You really can’t ask for more. So, if you have already booked your flight and hotel in one of the region’s charming villages––we recommend the Santa Caterina––you are probably counting down the days until you can relax with a spritz in hand admiring the view from one of the cliffside restaurants.

In the meantime, you can start thinking about what you are going to take with you to this stunning part of Italy. Ladies, we have some really good news for you––you can leave your heels at home. With countless flights of stairs and steep streets, the Amalfi coast is really not the best place to bring 6-inch stilettos, so give your feet a break and opt for a more comfortable footwear option such as a pair of flat sandals or espadrilles. Maybe you are also better off leaving those really short denim shorts at home, as some of the churches and restaurants along the Coast have very strict policies when it comes to clothing.

Once you have decided on all of your outfits, take some time to pack a few not-so-obvious travel essentials such as a European travel adapter and a waterproof phone case.

Now check out our list of all the things you shouldn’t forget to pack before you jet off to the Amalfi Coast.
