Whether you work from home full-time or you only use it occasionally, your home office should be a space that inspires you. Naturally, your interior design decisions should be led not only by looks but by function as well.

Bria Hammel, principal designer and CEO or Bria Hammel Interiors. believes that “uncluttered, clear workspace encourages productivity” so she suggests choosing a lamp with a small base that takes up minimal space and leaves room for other essential desk supplies.

“Use a desk lamp as an opportunity to create some interest on your tabletop by selecting a piece with a nice texture on the base or a unique shape,” says Hammel.

And since we mentioned that a desk lamp should be both visually appealing and practical, don’t overlook bulb quality.

“If your room is extra dim, go for a light bulb with a high wattage. Higher wattage equals better, stronger light! Not only will you be able to read and see better, but the right bulb will also really make your lamp shine,” adds Hammel.

Now check out some of the most stylish desk lamps that will make you look forward to doing work at home.
