To qualify as one of the best suites in the world, the space doesn’t just need to be luxurious. It needs to provide exclusive access; access to the best views of the city, the most coveted experiences at the hotel, and to private butlers, chauffeured black cars, or even captained, ready-to-sail yachts. With price tags well into the six figures, open invitations to the city’s best restaurants, and in-room, gallery-worthy art collections, these suites are truly the most magnificent hospitality experiences in the world.
Our 2020 Legend Awards honorees for over-the-top suites overlook sweeping global metropolises, lavish hotel grounds, and of course, awe-inspiring natural landscapes. These suites break down architectural boundaries, display famed works of art, and are meticulously styled by expert curators. The Legend Awards honorees for over-the-top suites are:
Park Hyatt, “Manhattan Sky Suite”
The three-bedroom Manhattan Sky Suite at the Park Hyatt overlooks Central Park and offers up gorgeous views of the cityscape. Guests staying in the Manhattan Sky Suite also have access to a private chef and complimentary helicopter transport to and from Newark, Laguardia, or Teterboro airport.
Rosewood London, “Manor House”
The Rosewood London is home to one of the grandest accommodations in the city: Manor House. The nearly 2,000-square-foot manor has a library with a distinctive rock-n-roll aesthetic and an Italian marble-covered bathroom. The staff customizes each stay based on guests’ preferences, interests, and requests. And if the Manor House is booked with six connecting rooms, it can become the grand Manor House Wing, with a private entrance, elevator, and it’s own postal code.
Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Paris “Lalique Suite”
When in Paris, there’s no suite more palatial than the Lalique Suite at the Prince de Galles, a Luxury Collection Hotel. The suite extends over two floors, offering views of both the Eiffel Tower and the bustling streets of the city. The room is born from a partnership between the hotel and Lalique, France’s world renowned crystal manufacturer. The Lalique Suite is the only suite in all of Paris to feature Lalique crystal.
Rosewood Hong Kong, “Harbour House”
The 12,000-square-foot Harbour House is on the 57th floor of the Rosewood Hong Kong, with magnificent views of Victoria Harbour. Privacy is paramount here; the suite has its own private elevator, and it features two outdoor pools, a garden, and expansive living and dining rooms. The five-bedroom suite comes with an adjacent garden house and a private gym, as well, of course, as access to Rosewood Hong Kong’s exclusive Manor Club.
Hotel Château du Grand-Lucé, “Baron’s Suite”
In the Loire Valley, The Baron’s Suite at the Hotel Château du Grand-Lucé is beyond lavish. The suite has three separate entrances, 17-foot ceilings, manicured private gardens, and Versaille-patterned oak floors. Our favorite touches? The private library that’s filled with French literature and the Salon Chinois, which features a Jean-Baptiste Pillement painting.
The Oberoi Marrakech, “Royal Suite with Private Pool”
The Oberoi Marrakech’s Royal Suite with Private Pool has stunning views of the Atlas Mountains and the lavish on-property gardens. The suite has a private terrace with a heated pool, a gleaming marble bathroom, and an opulent living room with a fireplace. TreeHotel, “7th Room”
TreeHotel’s “7th Room” sits lofted in a canopy of trees with stunning views of the Lule River Valley, a Northern Lights viewing room, and a shower that saves 80% energy and 90% water. The two-bedroom treehouse is one of Kate Moss’s all-time favorite vacation suites; We’re partial to the 7th Room’s suspended open-air stargazing platform, as, we’d imagine, is Moss. Those staying in the secluded treehouse suite can fly directly to the property’s heli-pad (which the hotel calls “the downtown airport”), unwind in the property’s two bespoke sauna houses, and enjoy three daily home cooked meals at the inviting 1931 welcome house.
Burj al Arab, “Royal Suite”
The Royal Suite at Dubai’s five-star Burj Al Arab has an in-suite cinema and exercise room—need we say more? The Royal Suite guests enjoy private transfers to and from Dubai International Airport, a kitchen to accommodate private in-room dining, and an in-suite gym.
