The Ritz Paris, an American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts property, has long been an iconic destination in the French capital, welcoming some of the world's most illustrious guests to enjoy the five-star accommodations. But, it's about to become an even more sought-after spot as the hotel is set to debut a gourmet boutique by the world's best pastry chef François Perret.

Opening June 7, Ritz Paris Le Comptoir will feature a menu of famous treats by the chef and breakfast items and lunch sandwiches. Puff pastries, croissants, and pains au chocolat are available for easy grab-and-go morning treats, while César-salad and Perret-style salmon sandwiches are available in the afternoon. Of course, Perret's iconic desserts like madeleines, marble cake, tartlets, the Ritz au lait, and a chocolate bar are regularly available for diners, too.

Along with the essentials, there will also be treats like éclairs, babas au Rhum, millefeuilles, cheesecakes, Mont-Blancs, and seasonal tarts will be available on a rotating basis. Plus, special Haute cookies-in-milk made of drinkable mousse and tastings with champagne are bookable as well.

As far as decor, expect China cabinets, art deco dessert trolleys, and a visible "pastry lab" behind a window. The stunning chandelier is reminiscent of the curves of a madeleine, while dining alcoves are clad in gold with childlike illustrations grace the walls.

This new offering comes after Perret was named the World's Best Pastry Chef for 2019. He then went on to open a food truck in the U.S., which became the popular Netflix series, The Chef in a Truck.

"With the Netflix series The Chef in a Truck, I realized that excellence and simplicity could go hand-in-hand," Perret told Departures in a statement. "The opening of this gourmet boutique offers Parisians the chance to take away pastries and enjoy a taste of the Ritz Paris legend at home. I love the spontaneity and sharing of takeaway—it fits perfectly with a spur-of-the-moment desire to indulge or to treat those you love."
