There’s plenty to watch out for at this year’s Venice International Film Festival, taking place August 31 through September 10, and that goes far beyond the exciting new films to be displayed on the silver screen. Longtime brand partner Jaeger-LeCoultre, and bestower of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award for innovation in contemporary filmmaking, turns back time during their 12th annual gala showcase of specially selected designs to celebrate the 85th anniversary of its first-ever ladies’ Reverso watches of the 1930s.
In honor of the occasion, the brand has created the new Reverso One High Jewelry timepiece, a two-faced design that epitomizes the brand’s masterful skills in watchmaking and gem setting. The Duetto concept of the reversible watch is expressed with a white mother-of-pearl dial on one side and an Art Deco motif that marks the hours with a diamond-and-midnight-black-aventurine pattern on the other. The entire 18-karat white-gold high-jewelry design is bedecked with 250 baguette-cut diamonds weighing in at 5.65 carats.
The timepiece is powered by the Manufacture-made Jaeger-LeCoultre caliber 844, manually wound movement. It is finished with a black satin strap. Just 100 pieces, which will hit stores this fall/winter, will be made in all. Talk about a showstopper. Price: $259,000; jaeger-lecoultre.com.
