Breitling, the Swiss watchmaker known for creating high-performance instrument watches designed for adventurous pursuits like diving, driving, and flying, kicks it up a notch for the holidays with a new limited-edition Transocean Day & Date watch. Created in a limited run of 50 pieces—in stores now—and made exclusively for the U.S. market, the new timepiece is an elegant, sophisticated update on the brand’s classic 1958 Transocean design.
Crafted in rich 5N rose gold with a dark blue dial reminiscent of the ocean’s deep hue, 2016’s iteration embraces the quintessential style of the original while adding the day at 12:00 via an arched aperture and the date at 3:00. Like all Breitling watches, the Transocean Day & Date U.S. Limited Edition is a COSC-certified chronometer, attesting to its rugged durability. It is powered by the Breitling Manufacture self-winding mechanical Caliber 45 and offers a minimum of 40 hours of power reserve. The 43mm case is water resistant to 100 meters and the watch is finished with a blue crocodile leather strap with hand stitching. Each caseback is individually numbered. Price: $19,865, sold at Breitling Boutiques in Las Vegas, Miami, New York, and Orlando.
