Mara Hoffman has become a reliable and sustainable go-to for fun, functional...

Lyndie Benson, previously a world-traveling photographer, has spent more than 30 years living in Malibu and always returns home to her beach-town filled with ranchers and farmers, surfers and hikers, movie stars and musicians. The vibe here is chill: there is a laid-back, unfussy approach to life and a general atmosphere of relaxation—all of which inspired her clothing line.

Over the years of walking along the 21 miles of the Malibu coastline and taking in the lay of the land, Benson has had one determined thought that’s stuck with her: do we really have to choose between feeling comfortable and looking put together? Enter Bleusalt, Benson’s solution to a less beach-bum and more beach-chic look. “Elevated athleisure”, as she calls it.

Benson built and launched Bleusalt using her own beachy, travel-ready lifestyle as inspiration. Her collection has something for everyone–both men and women, with varied body types–and for all sorts of occasions, whether you’re hopping on a plane, running around town for errands and meetings, or taking that coastline walk. The clothes are simple, stylish, versatile, and made of the sustainable botanic fibers of beech trees in Austria.

The fabric is deliciously soft and cashmere-like, without the usual cost and maintenance required. It’s breathable, too, and lasts after washing. And another reason to love this brand: they prioritize making minimal impact on our earth and are continuously making efforts toward being fully zero-waste.

Bleusalt, only turning two years old this month, has quickly gained a celebrity following and now has crowd favorites including The Wrap, The Cindy Pant, and The Slip Dress.

What’s up next for this eco-friendly brand? In the immediate future, new clothing styles. Bedding, kids and baby, and some pet products are in development, as well. What’s up next for me? Layering up in my Oversize V-Neck and Wrap, just in time for sweater weather.
