Athleisuretes rejoice: New York–based, Belgian-born designer Tim Coppens, whose namesake brand has won accolades from the CFDA, launched his TC Select capsule collection for Under Armour’s elevated UAS line earlier this week in New York. Marrying his urban, highly sophisticated brand of menswear with the resources of a sportswear mega brand, Coppens created a collection for men and women that’s decidedly more city slicker than country camper. The women’s neoprene and shearling blazer ($279; underarmour.com) hits the mark between classic and cutting edge, while a water resistant wool trench, finished with a camo motif ($1,500; barneys.com) is a welcome update to the classic menswear staple. The collection’s palette is a chic trifecta of grey, black, and white, with traffic-cone orange detailing adding a sportswear feel. It helps, of course, that every last tech detail, from taped seams to water resistant fabrics, has been included, upping the performance level of quotidian fashion to new heights.
While the pop-up shop closes on Monday, December 12, the collection will stay available through Mr.Porter, as well as online and in store (in select cities) at Barneys New York and Under Armour.
“Everything is made with the aim to optimize product for the variable conditions of everyday life,” says Coppens. So, city-dwellers, that rushed commute in the morning definitely qualifies you for this line of well-tailored, performance-based wear.
