Move over, Meghan Markle! Following in the footsteps of his stylish daughter-in-law, Prince Charles is the latest member of the British Royal Family to dip his toes into fashion.

The Prince of Wales, through his foundation, is teaming up with one of the biggest online luxury companies YOOX Net-a-Porter on a capsule collection, dubbed The Modern Artisan.

The partnership will unite two groups of recent graduates, Italian and British, who will design a luxury collection of womenswear and menswear that explores “what it means to be a modern artisan today” and that “has sustainability at its core.”

The first collection, designed by six Italian students at Milano’s leading design school Politecnico di Milano will be inspired by the convergence of art and science in the work of Italian artist Leonardo Da Vinci commemorating the 500th anniversary of his death. To make sure the collection is a commercial hit, YOOX Net-a-Porter will provide the students with data on long-term customer design preferences.

At the same time, the Prince’s Foundation will work with another team of six students from the United Kingdom on teaching them production skills such as handling wool, cashmere, and silk fabrics. The goal of the training is to equip the students with all the necessary skills to produce the luxury collection at Dumfries House, the headquarters of The Prince’s Foundation in Ayrshire, Scotland.

“Designed in Italy and crafted in the UK, the Modern Artisan collection will be an important expression of how talent and technology can work across boundaries and borders,” stated YOOX Net-a-Porter group chairman and CEO, Federico Marchetti.

The Fall/Winter line will be sold starting next summer on all four YOOX Net-a-Porter sites (YOOX, Net-a-Porter, Mr.Porter, and The Outnet) and all proceeds will be donated to The Prince’s Foundation.
