The powers behind Gucci’s white-hot Ace sneaker are doing a little fancy footwork pre-holiday season just in time for gift giving. This week, E-tailer My Theresa gets its first crack at selling the DIY leather sneakers online, while in the past, folks who wanted to customize the iconic sneaks had to hoof it over to select brick and mortar retailers. But customers be warned, don’t sit back on your heels and wait to buy—this is a two week only situation, so hurry.

The personalizing process, while not daunting, takes a bit of creativity. Each shoe (not pair) is customized separately. So, if you wish, choose different initials on right and left shoes, with or without dots in embroidery colors including light blue, gold, pink, green, silver, and orange. Gift givers, please take note: Once ordered, the custom Aces will reportedly be delivered within four weeks. And sorry gentlemen, these sneakers are in women's sizes only.

The low-top tennis shoe already ranks high on the status symbol meter with loads of celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, and Sienna Miller wearing them as their go-to round town kicks. The super clean white uppers with the instantly recognizable Gucci green and red web at the sides are sort of a minimalist salve to Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele’s distinctly maximalist bent.

Bottom line: people love ‘em.

Gucci Ace DIY sneakers are $730 at mytheresa.com.
