The red carpet is greener this week, thanks to Emma Watson’s head-to-toe eco-conscious ensemble. The 26-year-old actress chose an Oscar de la Renta strapless pantsuit, fresh off the fall 2017 runway, for the Paris premiere of her latest project, Beauty and the Beast (set to release on March 17). The moment also marks the first Hollywood appearance for the new designers of Oscar de la Renta—Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia.
Watson captured the look (which reminds us of this Dior look she wore to the 2014 Golden Globes) in her brand-new Instagram account, @the_press_tour, which highlights her vegan wardrobe while on the road promoting the live-action version of the Disney animated classic. A UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, Watson is adding to her feminist-icon cred, committing to sustainable fashion (recall her 2016 Met Gala gown by Calvin Klein and Eco-Age, made completely of recycled plastic bottles, pictured below).
Swapping the red strappy sandals shown on the runway for sophisticated black, silk pumps by Burberry, Watson otherwise stayed true to the initial Oscar vision, pairing a floral-embroidered bustier with tailored black trousers, tied together by a lush, scarlet sash—styling that's dominating fall 2017 catwalks. Watson stayed on message, all the way to her lips: Her combination of ‘Osaka Plum Matte’ and ‘New Orleans Scarlet Matte’ from the Body Shop was made with Fair-Trade ingredients.
