With New York Fashion Week behind our backs, it’s time we move across the pond and focus our attention on London.
The British capital has always been a creative hotbed for young and up-and-coming designers which makes London Fashion Week a really exciting event. This season, the highly anticipated Fashion East show, by the non-profit organization supporting new talent which is credited with discovering designers like Gareth Pugh, Jonathan Saunders, and Roksanda Ilincic, features designs by Ancuta Sarca, Gareth Wrighton, and Yuhan Wang.
Of course, there will be plenty of familiar names on the calendar among which Burberry, Victoria Beckham (who is presenting her third collection in London after starting out in New York), Erdem, and Christopher Kane.
A different kind of superstar fashion show will also be happening in the British capital this season. Naomi Campbell’s annual Fashion For Relief charity event will showcase designs from a variety of brands and will be modeled by fashion’s finest. It is “dedicated to improving the lives of those living in adversity.”

Goddard’s show featured voluminous tulle skirts and dresses in a palette consisting primarily of red, blue, white, and pale yellow.
Halpern’s latest collection included some seriously showstopping looks that paid homage to Barbra Streisand’s style in the 70s and 80s like this glittering one-shoulder gown and this jacket-inspired dress.
HoH’s spring 2020 collection was titled “Dance the Pain Away” and featured a slew of 90s inspired looks.
Rejina Pyo’s set design was inspired by a library while her collection was all about living in the moment and enjoying life. The designer quoted Etel Adnan, a Lebanese-American writer, and visual artist as the inspiration behind her spring 2020 looks.
Naomi Campbel’s annual Fashion for Relief charitable fashion show was a star-studded affair. Fellow supermodels Erin O’Connor, Isabeli Fontana, and Stella Maxwell joined Campbell on the catwalk to showcase looks by the likes of Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.
Zinko sent a clear message with her spring 2020 collection—fashion doesn’t have to be wasteful. The designer’s collection included gowns, jackets, and pants created from leftover fabrics.
This collection was another proof that Koma knows how to cut a sexy evening dress. He kept his palette simple—mostly black and white with a few looks in bold orange and soft blue.
This season designers Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi looked to Japan for inspiration—Manga prints and a kimono-inspired coat were among the highlights for spring 2020.
The designer was inspired by “simplicity” this season. “When you pair a top with a trouser, there’s elegance. That attitude continues through textural eveningwear; new volumes and a subtle mixing of fabrics; the American sportswear-inspired mood of sequin skirts; the workwear appeal of check suits; the double pleating on wide-legged trousers,” he stated.
Howell’s woman loves borrowing from the boys—loose-fitting button-downs styled with cropped pants and below-the-knee skirts were part of her spring 2020 collection.
For next season, Beckham “took a melting pot of references and inspiration from past decades, then looked to our brand DNA and put everything together into a blender, to make a new, modern mix.” What does that translate into? Roomy dresses in bright, block hues and beautifully tailored suits perfect for the modern woman.
For spring 2020, Alice Temperley, who is known for her gorgeous evening wear collections, presented boldly printed day wear dresses, shorts, jeans, and jackets.
Neon hues, fringes, and athleisure were front and central at knitwear designer Mark Fast’s collection for which he credited Madonna and London’s East End as inspiration.
16Arlington, an up-and-coming label that has the fashion industry all excited, presented a collection that featured a lot of feathers, metallics, and some really memorable sunglasses.
For spring 2020, luxury label Jamie We Huang offered a sportswear-inspired collection full of loose-fitting silhouettes and edgy accents.
