Mead (aka honey wine) has experienced an artisanal revival domestically, thanks in part to B. Nektar Meadery in Ferndale, Michigan. If mead itself isn’t novel enough, cofounder and CEO Brad Dahlhofer has surprises in the works. “We’re getting a brewing license so we can create a fusion between mead and beer that’s never really been done before,” he says. For a taste of the possibilities, try the Zombie Killer Cherry Cyser, a sparkling mead made with star-thistle honey, Michigan tart-cherry juice and apple cider. 1481 Wordsworth, Ste.
