It’s projected that one million people will descend on the San Francisco Bay Area to celebrate Super Bowl 50 from January 30 to February 7. Though the actual Big Game will be held in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, roughly an hour south of downtown San Francisco, many of the pre-game weeklong festivities will be hosted in the Super Bowl City, centered on historic Justin Herman Plaza and encompassing a large swath of the waterfront Embarcadero district and main artery Market Street. Skip the chaotic crowds and score your own touchdown by booking a luxurious stay, complete with the week’s best culinary and cultural excursions. If you’d rather be right next to the action, not to worry—there are also a few luxury lodgings still available on the Silicon Valley peninsula, some within minutes of the stadium.
