Since I. M. Pei’s Museum of Islamic Art opened three years ago, Doha has become a Middle Eastern cultural capital.

Dinner for ten at the beachside eatery L’wzaar in Katara Cultural Village. The new restaurant lets diners pick fresh seafood, like Bahraini shrimp or lobster from fish market–style counters, then select the type of preparation (à la sautéed in garlic sauce) before being served in the brightly colored dining room. katara.net.
