Twenty-eight-year-old designer Lucas Rise painted his first cabinet at age 16, covering it with Coca-Cola logos. Risé's style has matured since then—his travels have taken him through Europe, the United States, and South Africa—and now he creates wonderfully colorful wardrobes with patterns inspired by primitive textiles, Carnaval imagery, flowers, and antique ara-besques. He uses century-old oak or cedar for each piece, building and painting by hand in his beautiful old house in Chacarita. $ By appointment only; $2,500–$3,000; 54-11/4551-7456; sansparapluie.com.
