David Easton Cleans House

Designer David Easton—renowned for his neoclassical creations for some of Manhattan’s toniest apartments as well as for Aspen’s Little Nell resort—is paring down. Almost 600 pieces of art and furniture collected over 26 years in his Suffern, New York, home are being put on the auction block this month. Among them are not only his own stylings (such as the Victorian-inspired mahogany armchairs upholstered in a beige vine-motif fabric of his design) but also antiques dating from the 18th century (we love the circa 1869 ivory inlaid tilt-top tables from a Welsh castle). This may be the chicest garage sale ever.

The auction takes place March 28 at Doyle New York (175 E. 87th St.; doylenewyork.com).
