Book of Note

Dark lady

When she's not traveling the world for this magazine, Reggie Nadelson moonlights as a crime novelist. Her newest thriller, DISTURBED EARTH ($24; Walker & Company), starring her familiar protagonist, the Russian-Jewish detective Artie Cohen, is the first of a trilogy set in New York. Cohen gets drawn into a case involving the murder of one child and the disappearance of another in a fearful city still recovering from 9/11. FYI, Comrade Rockstar, her 1991 bio of an American who became the biggest rock star in Soviet history, will be made into a film by Tom Hanks.
