For Strategic Socializing: Soho House Istanbul
This social staple has expanded radically since it began in a warren-like 18th-century tenement in central London two decades ago. The media- and fashion-crowd-friendly club now has houses from Berlin to West Hollywood, though the next year will mark its most aggressive international expansion. Splashy outposts in Chicago (August), Barcelona (winter 2015/2016) and Mumbai (opening date announced soon) will be eclipsed, however, by the group’s largest hotel property to date in Istanbul, located inside a former U.S. consulate site in Beyoglu. Opening in December, the Ottoman-era, fresco-decorated Palazzo Corpi will feature 88 well-appointed rooms and Soho House’s signature sceney rooftop pool. Memberships start at $1,340, plus a $335 registration fee; sohohouse.com.
