San Francisco

Firm Description
Palmer Weiss is a boutique interior design firm specializing in high-end residential properties. They collaborate closely with owners, architects and contractors on ground-up construction as well as extensive renovations of historic properties. Recent projects include updating and designing a sprawling 1911 San Francisco shingle house for a young family and collaborating on all aspects of design and construction of a 6,500 square foot mountain property in Lake Tahoe.

Approach to Residential Design
Weiss believes in collaborative and thoughtful design. She and her design team listen intently to the client's needs and incorporate solutions, often acting as liaison with architects and contractors. In their view, design should be as functional as it is beautiful, and they pay close attention to the realities of clients' lives to ensure the design works for their lifestyle.

Distinguishing Characteristics
With a master's degree in finance from Kellogg School of Management, Weiss is particularly qualified to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on budget. While they focus intently on creating beautiful and unique aesthetics, they pay equal attention to the logistics and finances of a project.

Work Influences
Passion, excellence and all-out effort inspires Weiss. One of her favorite examples is NFL wide receivers. "An odd source of inspiration for my profession, I know – but they train so hard their entire lives and leave it all on the field on Sunday.  I think everyone should approach their career that way," she says.
