The Comeback

When Saks Fifth Avenue hired big-deal retailer Ron Frasch away from Bergdorf Goodman in 2004, we knew something good was coming. Soon after, the Rockefeller Center location of the original great American department store started to seem like its old self again: It introduced two new restaurants; cutting-edge furniture from Flair boutique in Florence; diamonds from Graff; a John Allan barber shop; and a redesigned second floor with more room for Donna, Calvin, and Ralph. The famous "very Saks Fifth Avenue" line is once again a compliment.
