The New Media-Centric Restaurant

A new Tribeca restaurant is attracting all the right buzz.

Every five or ten years, Manhattan’s media pooh-bahs anoint a new restaurant as the place to see, be seen and—lest we forget—eat. Tribeca’s White Street, the latest venture by chef Floyd Cardoz, TV host Dan Abrams and men’s-magazine veteran Dave Zinczenko, is shaping up to be such an establishment. Its clubby decor combines old New York glamour and downtown bohemianism, while the dining room’s sophisticated buzz draws an in-the-know crowd (including President Obama) that certain old-standby insider hangouts in the West Village would jump through hoops to attract again.
