Juicing Gone Global

The trend is quickly spreading beyond U.S. borders.

In 2013 London-based Lily Rogath and Meryl Zises, who met in New York, founded Imbibery London after deciding that “the only way to get a cold-pressed juice was to make it ourselves,” Rogath says. Their best-selling concoction is the classic Green (spinach, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon). Last spring, in Stockholm, New York publicist–turned–health coach Filippa Salomonsson launched Raw Clarity, the capital’s first organic-juice detox program, which offers three cleanses. With competition revving up abroad, U.S. juiceries are upping the ante: New York’s Juice Generation now sells juices and shots infused with activated charcoal and clay, ingredients that company founder and CEO Eric Helms says are “fantastic detoxifiers.”
