I’ve been carrying a “print” copy of The New York Times with me every day since college. I can’t always rely on some electronic device. My daughter helped me rediscover the relaxing nature of drawing with crayons, and I still break them out from time to time. Fig Newtons are one of my favorite snacks; they make me feel less guilty—a fig’s a fruit, right? And New York City: It’s the only thing that’s always been there for me and never let me down.
