Into the Woods
On the leafy, designcentric street of Alameda Gabriel Monteiro da Silva, Etel Interiores carries a collection of exquisitely made wood furniture. Many pieces—we love the low, spiraling table crafted with stacked planes of wood—are the work of owner Lissa Carmona, but you'll also find blocky, folk-inspired benches by Cláudia M. Salles, ultramodern cabinets by architect Isay Weinfeld, and tapered-leg chairs by the midcentury-inspired collective Black & White. Most of the items in the barnlike space are created using sustainable woods from Amazonian forests, such as cedar, sucupira, and imbuia.
